Congratulations! AAA Four Diamond awards announced

by julie on June 13, 2008

Congrats to Boca, The Celestial, Daveed’s, Orchids, Jean-Robert at Pigall’s and The Palace for winning AAA’s 4-Diamond award. The Palace has been winning it for 20 consecutive years. This is AAA’s highest designation; we have no 5-Diamond restaurants or hotels in Ohio.

Remember when we used to wait to see if the Maisonette would get its Mobil stars? Sigh.

Have you ever been to The Palace? There doesn’t seen to be the buzz about it like other restaurants downtown. (Maybe becuase it isn’t new.)

I love to go to the Palace for lunch! First of all – it’s incredibly FANCY – you really feel like a king/queen…

Second – it’s cheap! I mean – it’s not cheap cheap – but for a lunch place and as nice as it is – it is a good deal. You might spend a buck or two more than you would at a crappy place like Champps and the food is great!

Try the orchiette pasta with a lamb ragout – it’s my favorite – goat cheese – oh man – I gotta go this week! I’m salivating!

So yes – I’ve been there – you should check it out!

Dan– I’ve heard great things about the Palace, but finally got to try the food on Friday night at Taste of NFL– and it was fabulous. I’ll write more about it in a later post, but I think we’ll have to check it out.

Heather– Unfortunately, I rarely get a chance to eat lunch downtown; despite living downtown, I work in Mason. Thanks for the tip, though.
