I’m sorry you had that experience– have you contacted the management? Most restaurant managers take such complaints seriously.

I made the mistake of attempting to take my wife out for a drink and picked Bootsy’s. It was pre-Aronoff and the place was very quiet except for the chattering of the girls behind the bar talking about some “hotties” that had been there the night before. We were seated at the upstairs bar and were ignored for at least ten minutes. The final straw came when several guys came up the steps and were promptly greeted and their drink orders taken. Must have been the “hotties”. Granted my wife and I are over 40 but have plenty of money to spend. We packed up and headed downstairs to a packed bar at Nicholson’s. The bartender there treated us like gold, and mentioned that they get pissed off customers from Bootsy’a all the time. Imagine that? Oh well, lesson learned….Never again Bootsy’s.

There I am, minding my own business, when I ask for my tab. It ends up being $90 over what I ordered for the night. Also, they lost my credit card. When I object, they kick me out of the place. This is the most rank amateurish establishment I’ve been in Cincinnati, and they treat their customers like dirt. Beware of Bootsy’s.

I checked it out with a group of people after the nutcracker on Saturday. The people that work there make the girls at hooters look modest and the place was overrun with people straight out of lodge bar, sullys, or blackfinn. I had people fall on me, sit on our table when we were eating, and food that didnt come until 15 minutes after everything else. I was VERY disappointed.

ARE YOU KIDDIN’ ME?!! Bootsy Collins is the MAN, and to pay homage to the legendary bassist is wonderful news, and it’s a homage with great pedigree – Jeff Ruby. Holy Moley Bassman! I live in San Francisco, and I can not WAIT to go to Bootsy’s. I made three records with him, how couldn’t I?

I agree. I ate at Bootsy’s on Saturday night and the place blew me away. The food, ambiance and vibe were all spectacular.

And the price was right, too. Very, very reasonable, especially for a Ruby restaurant!

The banquette was nice and cozy with five of us. Two drinks, an appetizer and tip ran me $20. Not bad at all if you’re out on the cheap but are looking for some flash.
I tried Ms 5chw4r7z’s plantains and I wanted to knock her down and eat them all myself, but it wouldn’t have been worth a fork in the back of the hand.
I’m betting Bootsy’s will be packed once word gets out.
