Please don’t stop reading my blog.

Because I have a confession to make.

I met Sandra Lee and… I kind of… I know… like her.

I feel like I’m in AA.

Seriously? One of THE nicest celebrities I’ve met. She was in town for a book tour and ate at Pigall’s (hey, she has good taste) and came by Twist (where I happened to be for a fashion show) to visit with the Cincy Chic girls. I got an intro, she really didn’t quite know what to make of a food blog, and I got a picture.

As she leaned in for the pic, she said, “Aren’t you glad you’re blonde? The flash just erases all of your wrinkles.”

Sandra Lee and Me, Twist

So, Sandra Lee– I still don’t like sauce packets, but I can’t help but respect the career she’s made for herself.

Ok, if you make that confession..I have one too….I like Rachel Ray. I think enthusiasm is contagious, and I like her not measuring method of cooking. I have her books and a subscription to her magazine. Wow, I feel like a weight has been lifted! :)

i admit it, i like her too! her food sometimes annoys me, but she seems very nice and appears to have a lot of fun w/ her life unlike some other food network people who seem to have a big stick up their asses. i’m looking at you bobby flay.

True, I really really hate some of her recipes (or the pre-made stuff in them). But, I’ve probably only seen her 4 or 5 times and, I think, in each instance she had a signature cocktail to go with the meal or the show. That alone gives her a little respect in my book!

ya know, she does have some decent ideas sometimes. i still don’t think it warrants a show, but i’m evidently no longer Food Network’s target audience. but dear Sandra… flash “erases” or at least reduces wrinkles and blemishes on most everyone, not just blondes. :p

    Who is Sandra Lee?

http://www.semihomemade.com/ is Sandra’s website. She does 70% fresh ingredients and 30% prepackaged stuff. Or is it the other way around?

    Nice photoscape.

    *bwahahaha* It’s Semi-Ho!

That bitch is Whack with a capital W.

Recently on her “show” she made a powdered donut edible Xmas tree thing w/ icing for all your holiday festivity munching and/or table decorating needs and thought it was awesome enough to share on television with the world.

(I wouldn’t have shared it with prisoners.)

Yes, I watched the show. But I loooooooooooove train wrecks. :-D

Still, she terrifies me on about 43029129348 levels.

(Your blog still rocks BTW, as do you.)

a lot of very nice people can’t cook anything I want to eat ;) I’ve cooked things that are mostly opening cans & heating (and spicing & whatever) – but I’m not going to say they are things worth a theme table or party!

I honestly don’t understand the vitriolic mentatlity towards people like Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee. They make food accessible to people who want to develop their skills and try new things, but who need to do it with limited time and/or a limited budget.

I for one really enjoy some of their recipes; plus, nothing they make is terribly difficult to tweak to my tastes or improve upon. Three cheers for Sandra Lee!

hilarious…what a weird thing to say…it’s OK that you like her, as long as you are embarrassed

  • http://winemedinemecincinnati.com julie

I’m totally embarrassed. Still don’t like her recipes. :)

Wow….you met Sandra Lee and liked it…..I don’t know what to say. But then I’m still getting used to the idea of being in a kitchen and actually cooking for myself.
