I remember when last call for alcohol was 1am until they extended it to 2am. Everyone was stoked! I know I was. But then again when was the last time I was drinking at 2am. NEVER! heh.

As a New Orleanian I am constantly amazed by the alcohol laws in other places. As a French Creole I always had red wine with dinner, even as a child.

What other marketable goods are restricted to only being sold on certain days of the week? None. I think that alone speaks volumes.

Byzantine is the perfect word, and sums up the reason why so very many people mock the midwest. (Though I feel the tax on carbonated drinks to be hysterical as well. There are bubbles in my cola so I must pay The King of Ohio?)

And don't even get me started on not being able to have a beer while watching a fully-nude dancer at a gentleman's club. (But I can have a sodie pop just like I'm seven-years-old!!!) Puh-leeze.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. I'm going to go watch THUNDER ROAD with Robert Mitchum now. ;-)
