Jean-Robert’s new restaurant…

…will be in Northside!

WLWT reports that a bistro concept will open in Northside soon, apparently in the old American Can Company (thanks to @geekjames for filling me in– I’m traveling this week and pretty far away from local news!).

So what do you think he’ll do? Speculate away.

No Martin Wade comments in the comments please, this is strictly about Jean-Robert.

Awesome! The American Can Company building will be a great location!

This isn’t going to happen anytime soon, if at all. That development needs to have a lot of work done to it, and it isn’t going to be ready to habitat for some time. In understand that they have not secured financing yet to complete the project, and we all know how tight credit is right now. Having said that, I REALLY hope that this project takes off and that JR is involved. This project would be great for Northside. It would also be great for JR; a casual bistro that is his 100%. It would take him back to his roots and allow him to recenter himself.

Here’s some information about the American Can site from Kevin LeMaster’s excellent site, Building Cincinnati:

    Fingers are crossed!

I would love to see a new JR restaurant, especially in Northside.

I would also be surprised if this happened soon. I spoke to someone pretty close to JR just a few days ago who said that he is still mulling his options.

Doubtful, My guess is John Kinsella may be retiring from Cincinnati State and JR replacing on Friday. I can’t see JR going to Northside.

Press conference on Friday morning will reveal all and put an end to this speculation. It’s not what you think…

I know the other rumor (which is probably more valid) is that Jean-Robert will partner with MCI. Honestly, in my opinion, positive speculation (Restaurant in Northside? Yay! Partnership? Yay!) is much better than the stuff flying around in the past year or so, don’t you agree?

Jean Robert and Northside are a match made in heaven…almost as good as Jean Robert and Over-the-Rhine.
