Ahhh City View,
It used to be my hideout and the first place I used a wireless connection on a laptop. I was in computer sales and had a boss who was delighted in harassing his sales people with useless leads. This was mid 90′s I had a cell phone modem adapter and would sit on the deck in the afternoon after my calls and work from there. Those were the days. I have heard the Manson story, he supposedly lived on Oregon street.

Denae– I love pickled anything. Not a huge savory beverage fan, but Terry eyed the Bloodys.

Nikki– Oooh, I’m always into a good grilled cheese.

Greg– That’s good to know! Maybe I’ll swing by there and buy extra hot. As far as the crowds at City View, my guess is that it’s luck of the draw– I’ve not been there on a Saturday evening, but I’ve heard that they can be packed.

Julie, concerning the Grippos, they aren’t extra “hot” in a heat level sense, but contain a whole lot more seasoning. My wife can’t have anything remotely spicey and she loved them. Regarding City View, how crowded are they on a Saturday evening? Is it possible to get a outside table?

City View has amazing grilled cheese. Totally worth a try next time! It’s a good alternative for a non-beef-eater, and the mustard on it gives it a nice little twist!

The bloodys are the best I’ve ever tasted. Gotta love the pickled green bean. Yummy. Also, the view is to die for. Could be one of the best in the city.

Bob– Yeah. Grippos are darn tasty, the barbecue version, at least.

Greg– Oh, man, I don’t think I could handle extra hot! I’m a wimp!

Gigi– I love hearing stories like that! How cool.

Joe– I, for one, wouldn’t be surprised. I’d say that fewer than 50% of the restaurants I go to have menus online. Less than 10% have nutritional information.

Susan and Sarah– The view is gorgeous, and I, too, like the tucked-away quality.

I went there a few times and yeah the food is nothing special. But I always enjoyed the atmosphere and the view, especially at night out on the back deck. And I love how tucked away the place feels.

I’d be happy if all the local places actually had their menus on the internet period. You’d be surprised how many have no website at all.

I agree, Terry’s is my favorite, but the lesser known Oakley Pub serves up a great burger too, along with a “coleslaw” that is really an Asian (Vietnamese origin, I think) Cabbage Salad that is a great side. I dislike most coleslaw and this is a vast improvement.

I’ll go to City View for the “dive” bar atmosphere and view, not the burger.
