Honeybaked Fire Roasted Bacon

by julie on July 31, 2009

A quick post–

Stopped by biggs on the way to a road trip, and the Honeybaked Ham kiosk had samples of locally made fire roasted bacon.

Wow.

They take the ham coating and spices and put it on thick-cut bacon. I don’t even really like ham, but I loved the sweet, sticky, smoky flavor of this bacon. I’m sure someone could duplicate it, but good gracious, it was good!

Try some for breakfast this weekend, if you like sweet, sticky, almost candied bacon.

Sounds like when I make bacon with brown sugar and maple syrup! Yum.

I rub honey, brown sugar, and caiyan pepper on bacon then oven roast it. Hot damn, is that stuff good.
