According to Twitter and OpenTable, Oceanaire is closed for business– just a little over a year after they opened. Very sad for this downtown corner, which has been bustling– but with McCormick and Schmick’s a block away (and less pricey), perhaps there was just too much seafood for Cincinnati? Sad, though– the manager, Donna, and I had just chatted at Taste of NFL and no mention of a closure was made.
ETA: More info from the Business Courier– the chain itself went bankrupt.

Not surprising, but The Reserve at Newport on the Levee also closed last week. I saw a sign one day last week that said July 1st would be their last day. They said they are “relocating,” but I’ll believe that when I see it.

Julie, Oceanaire closed half their locastions today; San Diego, Seattle. Phoenix, Boston, Charleston & Cincinnati. The primary owner of the chain filed a $766 million bankruptcy, taking down the Oceanaire chain, car dealerships and real estate holdings all over the country:
