I completely disagree that the food is bad in Cincinnati-- there's a ton of great stuff, you just have to look. Cincinnati isn't really that large-- the metro area is over a million, but that sprawls as far south as Florence, and as far north as West Chester (and some say even Dayton). Chicago, on the other hand, is far more concentrated, with a couple million in a far more concentrated area, so you're naturally going to have more of a density of restaurants. That said, in downtown, I can list dozens of restaurants that I like and can walk to. :)

I agree, I got mine for free several years ago. The food was good but not great. I sad commentrary to most of the city. For our size we should have much large portion of good food. Having just got back from chicago it feels like you can walk a block and find three great resturants. Here you got to go a mile at least :)

Chuck, I still have no idea why people like Kahn's hot dogs. They have no flavor. The texture is mushy.

Ben, one of our favorite parks, in a similar vein, is the Dayton Dragons' Fifth Third Field. We'll definitely try Columbus next year.

Come up to Columbus (well, next season anyway) for a visit to Huntington Park. It has become my all-time favorite ballpark (in a mere one season) and has really good food selections.

For some reason, people in Cincinnati like LaRosa's and Kahns...so I'm not sure that improving the food options is going to get people to the park. At least the Skyline is something different for out of town people to try.

People who make GABP a stop on their tour of ballparks tend to not think much of the park in general and the food in particular, and I absolutely agree. The Diamond seat food is only good by comparison to the rest of the place. The Machine Room is DREADFUL....

hey, if you're a sports fan and Julie is a foodie, couldn't the two of you pull some strings and wake these people up? I saw way too many pictures of hot dog stands. How many hot dogs can a group eat? I betcha even Ruby could sell an expensive steak burger if it was really good and had his name on it. What's with the gourmet food for sports stadiums I saw on Fox a few months ago?

Robert,

I was lucky enough, a month or so ago, to have access to Diamond seats. I felt extremely pampered and decadent. As you probably know, with the Diamond seats come unlimited food and beverage, delivered to your seat.

I enjoyed the experience immensely. The food and drink were good, and the service was constant and attentive. Still, the quality of the food wasn't anything to crow about.

The point of this post, and I should have made this clear, is the quality and options of the food available to the run-of-the-mill fan...not the people who are paying $230+ per seat.
