Jeremy Luers leaves Rookwood, joins Teller’s

by julie on September 3, 2010

I’ve known Jeremy Luers left the Rookwood for a few days, but I had no idea where he was going! Chef Luers, formerly of Boca and Babbo in NYC will join the staff at Teller’s starting immediately. He’ll be heading up their Beer Dinner on September 21 as well.

Teller’s has always been an “old reliable” for me– so I’ll be interested in how he upgrades the menu while not alienating regulars who expect to see certain dishes on the menu. Also, who will head up Rookwood? Will it continue its focus on pickles, charcuterie and craft cocktails or change concepts (again)?

I really like Rookwoodm and hopefully they can replace Luers ASAP. Honestly, the past few times that the Mrs & I have been there Luers’ cuisine seemed to be rather resting on it’s laurel’s anyway, so no big loss if you ask me. Between Rom Wells’ excellent cocktail program and Rookwood’s soon to open deck, they have a bright future ahead of them. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!
