La Poste films web series about their opening

by julie on September 2, 2010

Ever wonder how a restaurant gets from a concept to opening? La Poste, a restaurant opening in the Fall, headed up by Bryant Phillips (sommelier at the Wise Owl and formerly of Chalk) and David Taylor (also of the Wise Owl and formerly of Lavomatic) has created a YouTube series (also available on cincinnati.com) about their opening.  The first episode talks a little about concept, marketing, and construction and I’m hoping future episodes feature menu development (both food and beverage).  Fun to watch if you’ve ever had any interest in restaurants and how one gets opened.

La Poste opens this fall in the space that used to house Tink’s, and before that was a post office, on Telford in Clifton.

who really cares? Another shameless self promotion of a crappy restaurant by a couple of inexperienced guys who found a rich old guy to put up the funds… This place will be out of business in 12 months just like all the other places that these guys have worked for. Lavomatic – what a joke of a place. Wise Owl – $12 half glasses of wine in West Chester??? Are you kidding me? Looks like someone on this site is really sucking up to these guys with all the free publicity they are giving them… Just sayin

Some people might find it interesting– which is why I posted it. It’s the first time I’ve mentioned La Poste, so I’m not sure how exactly I’m sucking up?

    @ Mike

Being a Cincinnati ex-patriate and having worked with Bryant and Dave I can say they are far from inexperienced. Dave Taylor is probably one of the most slept on Chefs in Cincinnati. Your commentary on something you clearly know very little about is one of the more ignorant things i’ve read on this blog. (and yes Julie, i’m a frequent reader) Im certain with those involved its longevity will topple the likes of anything else in Clifton. They’re building a destination restaurant which is exactly what that neighborhood needs.

If you cant shell out 12$ for a half glass of vintage…go to the liquor store and buy a bottle of 12$ schwill and drink it at home. Nobody wants to drink with a miserable hater anyway. JUSTSAYING.
