Friday Five: Spring Libations

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been hooked on springy cocktails, beers and wines. Despite the fact that it’s still raining (and raining… and RAINING) I’m hell-bent on casting off the jackets and drinking refreshing drinks. Here are my favorites:

1. Garden and Tonic. It’s Q Tonic, Gin (I use New Amsterdam) and Bitter Truth Celery Bitters, garnished with mint and cucumber.  2 oz of gin, 5 or so shakes of bitters, top with Qtonic.  Delicious and refreshing. I brought it to a party and it was incredibly popular.

2. Bell’s Oberon.  It tastes like springtime to me, and I got to drink it in Michigan last week.  Perfect.

3. Bellini.  Drop in a raspberry, and they’re what Easter brunch is about.  Michelle at Wine Girl has some Champagne suggestions.

4. Essencha Blueberry Rooibos, iced, please.

5. Mango Lassi from Brij Mohan.  Cool mango and yogurt. Plus, you get Indian food (which you’ll read more about next week!).
